This article examines the heuristic implications of a heteronormative survey in the monosexual context of prison. By considering the survey relationship as a process of socialization among others, the aim is to understand what gender relations can reveal about the prison and its heteronormal order. Thus, the analysis will highlight the failings in detention linked to the absence of heterosexual relationships, the complexity of systems of domination that run through the prison and the way in which it is possible to initiate relationships at the intersection of these.
