Whereas violence does occur in physical education (PE) courses, violence ”regardless of its forms and social interactions” does occur less in this discipline than others. The reasons are numerous: the students’ interest in this course, the interaction between PE teachers and students, a discipline that integrates “learning how to control impulses” while allowing a space for emotions to be expressed, but also to the training of PE teachers, which focuses on knowledge transmission, educational relations, and the management of affects.
