Lacking the important resources needed to live in society, individuals living in instability need to find ways to release themselves from social constraints. Through specific modes of action, they construct a more flexible reality in which their low resources and the requirements of social life can be reconciled. These individuals are conscious that these modes of action are marginal and are punished by the society, but they see their way of life as temporary and hope to one day live “like everyone else.”
